United Methodist Women

Aley UMW is the group of women in Aley’s congregation organized for mission. Any woman who commits herself to the purpose and chooses to belong is a member of Aley UMW. We are led by an elected board, and meet as a group for general meetings. There are also organized subgroups, or circles, that meet separately. Many UMW members attend both general meetings and circle meetings, but it is not necessary to do so.

Although subject to change, General Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of the month.  There are currently two circles, the Morning Cirlce meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 9:30am and the Evening Circle meet the fourth Monday at 7:00pm.

In addition to meetings, there are many opportunities to be involved in UMW and in mission-related service. Some of the on-going projects are described below. New ideas are always welcome!

  • Support of Outreach Programs such as St. Paul’s Luncheon

  • Distribution of Thanksgiving Baskets

  • Christmas Adopt-a-Family

  • Honoring Senior Citizens with an Annual Luncheon

  • Hosting Spring Tea or Banquet - for all Aley women

  • Coordination of meals for families in need

  • Ice Cream Social

  • Souper Bowl Sunday

  • Undies Month for the needy

  • Fund-raising Projects
